Gorilla Storage: Mandatory Insurance Policy
Effective Date: 18 August 2025
1. Introduction and Purpose
This document outlines the insurance policy for all customers renting a self-storage unit or container from Gorilla Storage ("the Company"). Our priority is to ensure that our customers' belongings are protected. To that end, we offer all customers an insurance policy for the goods they store in our facilities. You are not obliged to take out this policy but if you do not, Gorilla Storage is not responsible for the re-imbursement or otherwise due to theft, damage etc.
2. Optional Insurance Requirement
It is an optional condition of your storage agreement with Gorilla Storage that your stored goods are insured through Gorilla Storage. The insurance policy is designed to protect your belongings against loss or damage.
This ensures peace of mind and provides financial protection for your valued possessions.
3. Insurance Coverage Options
Gorilla Storage offers two levels of insurance coverage to meet your needs. You must select one of the following options at the time of signing your rental agreement:
- No Coverage: £0
- Your good are not insured through Gorilla Storage, you are responsible for privately insuring your goods.
- Premium Coverage: £5,000
- This option provides enhanced coverage for your stored goods up to a total value of £5,000.
Please assess the value of the goods you intend to store and select the level of coverage that is most appropriate for you.
4. Billing and Payment
The cost of your chosen insurance plan will be automatically added to your monthly (or otherwise agreed) rental subscription fee. The insurance charge will be clearly itemised on your regular invoice. Your rental and insurance payment will be collected as a single transaction.
5. Customer Agreement
By signing the Gorilla Storage rental agreement, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Insurance Policy. You confirm your selection of either the £0 or £5,000 coverage option and agree to pay the associated costs as part of your regular subscription.
Failure to maintain payments for your unit and the associated insurance will be considered a breach of your rental agreement.
